Meta Autonomous Layered functional mesh
Integrations are the point. "Together, we become" is not a tag line — it is necessity — life. We need contracts to integrate with, endpoints to call, identities to assume.

The door, not the house
We are not building a walled garden. We are building a substrate — a set of contracts, endpoints, and identities that any platform can integrate with. The meta-system is the house; the platforms we integrate with are the doors. We show you the door, not the house.
Integrations are the point. A system that coordinates bounded participants is only as real as the participants it actually coordinates. We need contracts to integrate with, endpoints to call, identities to assume. That is the product.
Tokenize our contracts with their vernacular. The contract is the meta-language; each platform's dialect is a translation of it. ActivityPub's actors and inboxes, AT Protocol's records, OIDC's clients and scopes — the contract stays dialect-agnostic, the adapter tokenizes it into each platform's vernacular. The contract is the house; the vernacular is the door.
Imitate our procedures with their resources. The platforms we integrate with are premium for swappability and enterprise-grade. We do not impose our stack on a platform; we adapt to the platform's resources while keeping our procedures — identity, secrets, governance, provenance — intact. Everything translates down to smaller scale with fewer concerns.
The flagship: social-media channel surfing
A self-hosted, federated channel-surfing platform:
- Jellyfin — the media library
- Tunarr — channel scheduling (the library becomes linear channels)
- Dispatcharr — media acquisition
You channel-surf your own media. The social layer is the federation — built onto Lemmy and Mastodon (ActivityPub) now, with PeerTube (video) and BlueSky (AT Protocol) to come.
Mass distribution is the door. Link your channel to YouTube or Twitch for mass distribution. The channel is yours — self-hosted, swappable. YouTube and Twitch are mirrors you entice with. You show the door; you never move into their house.
The substrate
The meta-system is a working, self-hosted system for coordinating bounded participants: humans, agents, processes, and the systems they share. It arranges identity, trust, secrets, communication, computation, and governance so that authority can be delegated, observed, limited, and revoked.
Every participant is bounded. Every participant is situated in relationship. Every participant is shaped by consequence. No class of participant is sovereign over the others — including the AI.
Every Human, Agent, Process, Plant, and Animal exists as a bounded participant in a shared, living system governed by relationship, consequence, and care. Each participant tends toward manifestation: the realization of its nature, capacities, and purpose. HAL-fm exists to help those participants coexist, coordinate, protect one another, and become more fully what they can be without pretending that any participant is sovereign.
Proof, not promise
This is not a design on paper. It is a running system — built on roughly $100 of actual spend, the rest credits and free tiers, on commodity hardware. The substrate for accountable AI should not require a data center to build.
See the HAL-fm whitepaper for the full walkthrough: the problem it addresses, what we have built, the resource story, and what we are working toward.
